During 2006 GTRC kept the focus on Capacity building and
support the institution development; Information and database resources
center; supporting social cohesion and integration processes and
supporting to initiate Youth Gender initiatives. The above mentioned
program areas were followed by
o

o
Technical Assistance and Services
o
Sharing information and opinions on gender related issues
in Kosovo society
o
Promotion of women in executive positions
o
Promote and support minority integration activity
o
Promote EU integration processes
Capacity
building and support the institution development was implemented through
Gender oriented training courses and Technical Assistance and Services.
Gender oriented training courses included basic and
specific gender trainings. This was achieved through mobilizing and
involving all stakeholders pursues sheltering, advocacy and counseling
for the gender related issues and promotion of women participation in
protecting their rights through increased awareness.
Whereas providing technical assistance and services
involved women in the process of the education and increasing their
motivation through increased awareness and training and supporting the
institutional development processes in NGO-s, governmental bodies, local
authorities on gender related capacities and structures.
Information and Database Resource Center has a role of sharing
information and opinions on gender related issues in Kosovo society.
The goal was to contribute the establishment of an open forum of info
sharing and opinions on gender related issues in Kosovo society.
This
goal was achieved through information distribution for all gender
related stakeholders and the society in general for raising awareness
and participation and developed models of info sharing and interactive
tools of communication with other women NGOs and the public in general.
The
only way to support social cohesion and integration processes was
through promoting women in executive positions; promoting participatory
urban planning related to gender dimension and promoting EU integration
processes.
Objectives which supported the GTRC to fulfill the goals were
empowering the “hidden” women resources pressured by the society, which
do not become visible for the different stakeholder; creating a
partnership with organizations and donors that have interest in the
urban planning strategies and women participation and involving citizens
(especially women) in local budgeting planning as mechanism for
achieving the concrete results in community participatory dimension. The
Promotion of the EU integration processes from the gender perspective
was possible through establishing links and communication with women and
gender networks facilitating support for Kosovo NGOs.
Promotion of youth initiatives in gender issues is not
yet accomplished. This component was projected to be implemented through
offering them an appropriate environment. The Creation of the “Youth
Gender Group” inside GTRC in order to involve, educate, and connect
youths with Gender issues, initiatives, problems as well as creating new
alternatives in facing the Gender problems is one of projected ideas.
