According to the Strategic Planning 2006 -2008
These program areas will be followed by GTRC during 2008:
Program area 1. Gender trainings ,Capacity building and support the institution development
Program area 2. : Information and database resource center
Program area 3 . Institution building, sustainability of organisation
Program area 4. Support social cohesion and integration process (training ,formal and informal meetings, debate and round table)
Programme area 1: capacity building and support the institution development
Overall objective: Increasing the level of awareness of all the stakeholders about the importance of a good gender participation and inclusion in all aspects of Kosova society, central and local level
Provide Gender Oriented Training Courses in order to:
- mobilize and involve of all stakeholders and NGOs to pursue sheltering, advocacy and counselling services for the Gender related issues- foster the participation of women in the protecting their rights through increased awareness
-The promotion of women participation in protecting their rights through increased awareness.
Programme area 2: Information and database resource centre
Overall Objective: Support effort on increasing the awareness, encourage the participation of the different actors and strengthening the alliances of the not-for-profit organizations on gender mainstreaming and fight against gender problems by lobbying and information sharing tools.
Programme area 3: Institution building, sustainability of organisation
Overall Objective: strengthening Centre staff expertise and capacities by further training of the staff on new areas according to market trends, making them more competitive on providing tangible and client oriented products.
Objective 1: Staff development trainings for strengthening and empowering personal and professional capacities in order to promote further GTRC.
Programme area 4: Support social cohesion and integration process
Overall Objective: Contribute to social cohesion within Kosova society serving to integration processes in local, Kosova and European level by encouraging the activism and participation on gender elated issues
Project for 2008 WOMEN - IN MARGINS OF KOSOVA POLITICS for Prishtina regions ; financial support by UNDP Women’s Participation in Shaping the New Kosovo
Another project is Empowering women in political decision making in Kosova (Mitrovica and Gjilan) financial support by UNDP Women’s Participation in Shaping the New Kosovo
Project Objectives
Raising awareness of women politicians (Member of Parliaments and women’s from political parties), on mobilizing about gender related issues through:
- Building their capacity to advocate for gender issues within political parties, Kosova Assembly and the government, and securing their commitment to advocate for gender-related issues during a mandate.
- Contributing to normalized relations between citizens and institutions, and also women become more active contributors to decision-making processes.
- To provide to women participants in the trainings /meetings with skills and tools that will enable them in their active participation in public and political life;
- To broaden the understanding about the identifying their priorities, concept of gender equality and how to implement those concepts in daily works and life .
- Increasing communication between women in Civil Society and women politicians.
- To rise self-confidence of women for active participation in public and political life;
- To develop women’s solidarity and
- To encourage women for self- organization at the community level.
